Your heart rate also increases, your blood pressure rises, your breathing speeds up, the muscles get tense and glucose and fats enter the blood stream. These things occur every time that you become stressed. Over time, this can lead to higher risks for conditions such as heart disease and diabetes as well as common ailments like colds or the flu. Stress can also make any pre-existing conditions worse and makes it tougher on the body to heal or repair itself.

In order to reduce your debt related stress, it is best to deal with the debt head on. Take an honest inventory of all of your debt. Next take a look at how much income you have coming in. Then decide what your options are. Financial counseling, bill consolidation and even bankruptcy are common ways to deal with your debt. Whatever you decide, just take control of the situation. Once you deal with it, you will feel much better and it should help you reduce your stress. If you don’t and attempt to ignore it, your mind will still be processing the impending threat of not being able to manage your debt.
